Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, family, and friends of those who were touched by the tragic events that unfolded yesterday afternoon, as well as all the first responders, and investigators who worked the scene.
We are very appreciative of Sheriff Brad Norman and all of his staff, who are always quick to respond when requested. Specialized units such as crime scene, investigations, administration, patrol deputies, and dispatch.
Other agencies, Milford Police Department who are always quick to respond and work very closely with the Italy Police Department. The Texas Rangers, who also respond anytime they are requested, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Constable PCT. 2 Casey Borders and his staff, Justice of The Peace Jackie Miller PCT. 2, the Ellis County District Attorneys Office, as well as all the Italy Fire Department and EMS personnel who came to the scene to assist. A very special thank you to the men and women of Ellis County Dispatch, who not only stayed on top of all the resources that were needed and made sure we got them, but followed up this morning to check on the welfare of the officers on scene.
Last , but far from least would be our own personnel of the Italy Police Department. Lt. Joshua Williams, who was first on scene, Tracy Morris who stayed late into the night to answer Phones, School Resource / Patrol Officer Mike Rumsey, and Patrol Officer Cameron Geddie who along with K-9 Officer Timothy Collums came in to take care of the rest of the City of Italy while we were tied up at the scene.
It’s amazing how fast all of these people and agencies respond in a crisis situation. We are truly blessed in Ellis County to have this type of response from emergency personnel.
