Thanks to a grant from Keep America Beautiful Pond Day is off and sawing to eliminate the invasive Flag Iris plants from a pond that feeds a creek that flows into the Great South Bay!

And Pond Day begins! The yellow flag Irises look beautiful but can choke a waterway! Thanks to a grant from Keep America Beautiful the KIC Junior Commissioners and the KIC Club from Islip High School are attempting to clear the pond.

Contact the KIC office if you are connected to a community organization, church or not-for-profit that maintains a garden. Project Bloom is distributing flowers. Help beautify the communities within the Town of Islip.
