During the early stages of the Covid-19 virus pandemic we were designing a total muskie machine. The pontoon would be equipped with a huge recovery tank for muskies between the logs, a better sound system for music, extreme LED lighting inside and out, plush Captain chairs for everyone. The cost was considerably extremely high. We were excited to announce Gene Millers return to Midweek trips. The epidemic slowed our progress and eventually the hand writing was on the wall. It simply was not feasible to invest that much money and not know the what ifs. We are very sad to announce that we will hibernate a year and hope to return in 2021. The Muskieman and Captain Matt

A frequent question over the years is: When is the best time to book a Mille Lacs Lake Muskie Trip? The answer is: During the Minnesota State Fair and Labor Day Week-end. Captain Matt and James have a cancellation on Labor Day Week-end! James flies back to Arizona on September 3rd. It is his final week-end on the water. What an exciting week up ahead! It’s full moon week and Muskie Wars on Friday at Castaway’s in Malmo. We are gearing up to defend our title. We only have one available trip all week. It is Sunday Aug 11th 9 AM to 2 PM. 6 people 5 hours for $400 with Captain Matt & James. Call 612-532-4330 to grab it! The rest of the week is booked up solid.

Hello folks! The Muskieman here. Just a little update on Muskie trips this summer.....
James arrived in Minnesota yesterday. He will be running the lines with me on 4 PM midweek trips and he will assist Captain Matt on the weekends. The powerful storms in Polk County Wisconsin has Captain Matt swamped with his contractor business. He will be unable to Captain for a week or so. James and I will be available this weekend if anyone wants to give it a shot. Friday & Saturday 4 PM to 9 PM are open. The predator bite is the latest I have seen in years. We are 2 or 3 weeks behind (like the corn). Garrison Sports just started boating some huge pike which usually correlates with a Malmo Bay bite. Chiquita boated a 53 and 55 inch Muskie last week and has a huge lead on us (6). We need to get out there and put some fish in the net! That 61 inch Muskie is hungry.

A frequent question this weekend about muskie trips this summer: Will you be doing marriage counseling again while muskie fishing for guys in serious trouble at home? Of course, I can’t tell you how many marriages I have rescued on a muskie trip. The guys learn a lot from me. I’m the only guy on the planet that has women and muskies all figured out! I've always supported many organizations by donating a muskie trip for 6 people. It was a great way to meet new people and introduce them to my guide service. It really did not cost me anything as they usually generously took care of my expenses. My last year on the water I did over 20 donated trips. Recently, Daniel, President of Hometown Hero Outdoors asked if we can continue the muskie event. I told him unfortunately, Captain Matt has a fulltime job in Wisconsin and is usually only available on weekends. To my surprise, Captain Matt has insisted to take a day to give back to our Veteran's and law enforcement. That's awesome! Thank you Matt. I got up and looked out my front window. The lake was absolutely wicked. Huge waves were rolling in. I got to the boat and James had everything ready to roll. A little kid and his uncle were our crew. I told them there is no way in hell we can go muskie fishing. Had the crew been older and Navy Seals I would have given the green light. Samuel, the little 10 year old kid said "But Muskieman, I believe! Please!" I said "You believe?" Samuel said "Yes!" I told James to get lifejackets and we are going. I told Samuel we would venture out 4 miles and stop. If he wanted to abort it would be no problem. It was very rough and the swells were huge. When I stopped he gave me 2 thumbs up! I continued on to the "The Muskie Farm." The little s**t caught 2 big muskies in the first 30 minutes. I BELIEVE TOO!
