Waterway Blvd Multi-Use Path Elevation Project — Construction Update 🚧
Great progress to share! Paving is complete from 21st to 29th Avenues, with the path ultimately extending all the way to 41st Avenue.

For the next couple of weeks, contractors will be focused on drainage improvements along 32nd Avenue. As that work crosses Waterway Blvd, expect a few brief road closures in the area.

Meanwhile, the team is coordinating with Comcast and AT&T on utility relocations along 32nd Avenue, which need to be completed before pathway construction continues.

🇺🇸 Our traveling flag display has arrived at the Native Garden Park (on Palm Boulevard and 7th Avenue)! This beautiful spot overlooks the marsh and Hamlin Creek.

Stop by and walk through American history, from the Continental Union and Betsy Ross flags to every star-spangled evolution of our flag as the nation grew state by state. We've also got a Declaration of Independence banner flying in honor of America's 250th anniversary.

The display will be here for the next two weeks before moving to its next stop on the Island. Don't miss it!

Waterway Blvd Multi-Use Path Elevation Project — Construction Update 🚧

A quick heads-up for anyone traveling on Waterway Boulevard: Bastion Group has closed one lane between 31st and 32nd Avenues to install drainage infrastructure. Flaggers will be on-site to guide traffic, and the lane should be back open by this weekend.

Further south between 21st and 22nd Avenue, paving has started and the finished path is finally starting to take shape. We can't wait for you to see the final result!

Waterway Blvd Multi-Use Path Elevation Project — Construction Update 🚧

Great progress to report! Crews are currently wrapping up utility relocations near 32nd Avenue, which will enable drainage installation in that area over the coming weeks.

We're also anticipating that the section between 21st and 29th Avenue will be paved within the next few weeks, a big visible milestone for the project.

The latest construction schedule shows most right-of-way work on track to wrap up in July.

🏖️ 2026 Beach Renourishment Project — Work Begins Soon!

Marinex is on track to begin the 2026 Beach Renourishment project in early July, starting near Mariner's Walk in Wild Dunes.

Our city staff, coastal consultants, and Marinex crew recently surveyed the full length of our beach to assess dune conditions, identify staging areas, and plan equipment access points. All to help operations run as smoothly as possible.

Here's the current schedule (dates are subject to change):
1️⃣ Reach 1: July – mid-August
Mariner's Walk → Ocean Point (north end)

2️⃣ Reach 2: August – mid-September
Beach Club Villas → 56th Ave

3️⃣ Reach 3: September – late November
Pier → Breach Inlet (south end)

We'll keep you updated as dates are confirmed. For the latest maps, project details, and what to expect, visit our beach page: www.isleofpalms.gov/beach
