Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day etched forever into the history of our country and our fire service family.
We pause to honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. In a special way, we hold in our hearts the 343 firefighters, as well as the police officers and emergency responders, who ran toward danger without hesitation, answering their final call so that others might live.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea

A quarter of a century has passed, but time does not diminish our sacred vow to remember. To the families who carry the weight of loss every single day, to our veterans, and to all who continue to serve and protect our community: we stand with you, today and always.
We will never forget.
