We are no longer accepting sharps and removing the box from the lobby.

We understand this is not favorable to our community, however with this difficult decision, the safety of our personnel comes first.

Where to dispose: Wauconda and Lake Zurich Police Departments accept sharps OR at home

According to the Illinois EPA.
Residential sharps (needles, syringes, lancets) must be placed in a rigid, puncture-resistant container (e.g., dedicated sharps container or heavy-duty plastic detergent bottle), labeled "SHARPS, DO NOT RECYCLE," and sealed with duct tape.
When half-full, these containers should be:
- taken to designated drop-off sites
- mailed back
- or disposed of in regular household trash
Container Safety: Use a puncture-proof container, such as a sharp-specific container or a heavy-duty laundry detergent bottle. Milk jugs and coffee cans are not recommended.
Labeling: Clearly mark the container "SHARPS, DO NOT RECYCLE" or "HAZMAT" with a permanent marker.
Sealing: Once the container is no longer needed or is half-full, seal the lid with heavy-duty tape, such as duct tape.
Keep out of reach of children and pets

We received a box of yummy, tasty and gooey, hand crafted treats from Monarch Elevated Classics. They were rich, buttery, crunchy and impossible to not devour at once. Thank you for your support, wonderful treats and beautiful sign. We wish you great success and hope your business becomes a staple in the Island Lake community! Our uniform supplier thanks you as well, as we will be placing a large order of new pants and belts for our officers, who will probably get hooked on these goodies! 😋😂
