Island Heights Friends of the Library The Friends of the Island Heights Library is comprised of local residents who volunteer their time and energy to support the Island Heights Library.

The Friends of the Island Heights Library Organization is comprised of local residents who volunteer their time and energy to provide support for the Island Heights Library. The Friends assist the library programming by sponsoring educational and cultural activities for adults as well as children. Our organization also provides fundraising activities to help raise monies for special needs outside the appropriated budget. The Island Heights Library serves as the library for our elementary school. If you are interested in helping us help the Island Heights Library, please join us!

'The Librarians' is a powerful documentary that follows public and school librarians as they unite to combat book banning and defend intellectual freedom on democracy's front lines amid unprecedented censorship in Texas, Florida, and beyond.

Thank you to filmmaker Kim Snyder and all the courageous librarians and advocates who shared their stories to help shine a light on the fight for the freedom to read.

The library is Open for business again……!
The bees are busy in our garden, and the fantastic IH Library staff are just as busy inside, setting things to rights as Phase One of our renovation has been completed -
The carpet has been replaced and the new floor in the bathroom and hallway is in!! And the fresh paint inside looks terrific but is a “ work in progress”, so please pardon our appearance as the “ refresh” moves forward….
