Share the Vote

Share the Vote Share the Vote is an organization founded by UCSB students in 2016. We aim to facilitate understanding between the enfranchised and the disenfranchised.

Share the Vote aims to uplift the voices in our communities that are the least heard through campaigns and content that integrates grassroots and legislative endeavors. It is important at the end of the day that all members of a society regardless of background have the right to participate in the political process via voting.

Share the Vote aims to uplift the voices in our communities that are the least heard through campaigns and content that integrates grassroots and legislative endeavors. It is important that at the end of the day all members of a society regardless of background have the right to participate in the political process via voting.

For the program, a voter will either be paired up with a non-voter participant or receive the ideal ballot of a non-voter so they can vote as the non-voter participant would have on November 6th.

On Monday, November 5th there will be an event where you can personally meet with your partner to discuss the ballot. We will have people available to discuss candidates and propositions in case you have any questions or concerns. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are a non-voter and do not wish to attend the in-person event, you may choose to do the online version or an individual session with one of our coordinators.

For questions, comments or concerns please contact us at [email protected]

Expanding suffrage to people who are affected by decision-making processes that exclude them is an endeavor other cities should undertake around California 💯💯

"If you allow the children to attend school, why can't a parent have the right to vote?" said one parent. Some worry the move will complicate and jeopardize the integrity of the city's elections.

Important to always keep in mind that we are not too far off from the type of "racism" we consider to be ancient history. The work needs to continue.

Share the Vote is back for the Measure O elections! Sign up below!

Through Share the Vote, eligible voters vote for ineligible voters. Once you sign up online, you will be paired up with an ineligible voter and vote for what they want, whether that be a Yes or No on Measure O. Only eligible voters may sign up online. If you are ineligible to vote and want to sign up, email [email protected] or call (619) 889-6971.

In the United States, millions of people are disenfranchised – be they undocumented immigrants, ex-felons, or those who have yet to become citizens. Our program attempts to bring them into the democratic process.
