Ishpeming is primed for your business location! Check out this grant through the DDA and get in touch if you’re looking for a location in the downtown! We have several office spaces open.

The City of Ishpeming and the Ishpeming Downtown Development Authority are pleased to announce our newest program, the Start-Up Assistance Grant (SUAG). 💸

This grant program aims to support and encourage new businesses to set up shop in Downtown Ishpeming.

Each calendar year, this grant will provide $2,500 to four qualified applicants. The funds can be used for expenses related to establishing their business in Downtown Ishpeming, including:

💸 Rent
💸 Repairs
💸 Equipment purchases or rentals
💸 Business supplies
💸 Business insurance
💸 Marketing efforts
💸 Other start-up-related expenses

Additionally, accepted applicants will be provided one-year paid memberships to the Lake Superior Community Partnership and the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce.

Applications will be reviewed by the Ishpeming DDA in the order they are received. Once the budgeted funds are spent, the application window for that calendar year will close. This program is only available for businesses that fall within the DDA’s geographic boundaries.

Applications are available at the Ishpeming City Hall and online. Please submit completed applications to the Ishpeming City Clerk’s office.
