September is Big Brothers Big Sisters month!
What does it actually take to make a young person's life bigger?
Growing up without an adult role model in your corner is harder than most people realize. For many young people in the Central UP, that's the reality.
Big Brothers Big Sisters changes that. Through one to one mentorship, Big Brothers Big Sisters matches kids with caring mentors who show up consistently. The kind of people who listen, encourage, and guide. The result? Kids who are more confident, more connected, and more ready to take on the world.
This year alone, with help from our supporters and partners, Big Brothers Big Sisters positively affected over 300 young lives in communities across the Central UP. What kind of support can I expect from Big Brothers Big Sisters once I get matched?

Once you are matched with your Little, a Mentoring Coordinator from the agency will be in regular contact with you to provide assistance and give feedback. Any time you are unsure about what to do or how to handle a situation, you will have a Mentoring Coordinator there to help. They’ll help you with ideas for activities, guidance for handling possible difficult situations, and feedback on how you are making a difference.
