Our sincerest congratulations goes out to Coach Ryan Reichel!

He was honored today in Kalamazoo at the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan banquet as the overall, girls basketball coach of the year!

He is only the 4th girls coach in the Upper Peninsula history to receive this honor.

Artists in Excellence students had such an inspiring few days in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize 2026. They explored an incredible range of artworks, viewed the work of artists from many walks of life, and even got to meet and talk with a few of creators about their work!

Highlights included the Gerald R Ford Museum, the Fountain Street Church, the DeVos Place, and of course roaming the streets of downtown Grand Rapids together. We the closed out the trip with a relaxing final day at the Frederik Meijer Gardens. Overall, it was perfect blend of creativity, connection, and exploration.

Thank you to Alex Trotter for facilitating this trip for our students!

◦ Kickoff for our Varsity football game vs. Ontonagon is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
◦ Journey’s Eatz and Dead River Grillin’ food trucks will be parked behind the stands for the Varsity football game on Friday.
◦ Our Powderpuff football game will be at noon on Saturday at the football field. Come cheer on our Junior and Senior girls as they face off for the 2026 Powderpuff title!
◦ Our Homecoming dance will also be on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the High School Commons.

We hope to see a great crowd cheering on our students in the parade and out on the field! Thank you for your continued support and LETS GO HEMATITES!! 💙🤍
