Yesterday at 2042 hours, units responded to a reported structure fire in the 4300 block of St. Andrews. Crews arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a single-family residence, with the first-arriving company on scene within 2 minutes and 12 seconds of dispatch.

Engine 4 and Engine 11 initiated an interior fire attack, deploying two 1¾-inch lines. Based on initial conditions indicating a possible lightning strike, crews advanced to the second floor to pull the ceiling and check for fire extension. Firefighters were able to quickly cut off the fire’s progression.

Additional exterior lines were deployed, and Truck 8 utilized a master stream to assist in fully extinguishing the fire. Truck 7 conducted salvage and overhaul operations. Medic 4 assisted the Engine 4 driver in establishing a permanent water supply early in the operation. Responding units included: 521, M4, B1, E11, T8, E4, 522, B2,E8, T2 ,T7, E7, & M11
