Dear Friends,
This evening, I contacted Mayor Farrah Khan to congratulate her on her re-election. Based on current results, she will serve another two years as Mayor of Irvine. While votes continue to be tallied, I want to express my deepest gratitude to those who came alongside in support of my candidacy.
I ran this race with my whole heart and full effort. Going from community advocate to candidate was quite a shift but I’m grateful for the opportunity to shine a light on so many issues that I had been advocating for over the years with Irvine Watchdog.
Watching every City Council meeting takes tremendous dedication but Watchdog volunteers have persisted for years as a service to our community. The public has the power to hold our government accountable and it is my sincere hope that my campaign has inspired many to learn more about what is happening at City Hall and help keep watch in some form.
Our incredible campaign team of volunteers, donors, and supporters stepped up in ways I never would have imagined when I first entered the race. I am immensely proud of the coalition we built and the campaign we ran with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, working together, full of purpose, hope, and dedication.
It was clear that thousands of voters share our vision for Irvine, and recognize the need to increase transparency and accountability. While these goals transcend any particular individual or campaign, I am incredibly grateful for your trust and support along the way.
Onward and upward for Irvine!
Sincerely,
Branda
