"Although her Bankruptcy case was successful in relieving her $1.8 million dollar personal debt, presently, there is an ongoing dispute with business loan company, Kapitus Servicing, Inc. (Plaintiff). The Plaintiff sued Yazdani by way of an “adversary proceeding” within the Bankruptcy case. In Bankruptcy Court, an “adversary proceeding” is sometimes referred to as the case within the case. If successful, the Court may allow Plaintiff to proceed with collection efforts on the business loan and damages amounting to roughly $172,000. Although rare, a creditor in a bankruptcy case can initiate adversary proceedings usually based on allegations of fraud to collect on a debt which would have otherwise been discharged or uncollectable."

"Text messages between Melahat Rafiei and City Manager Chi have brought up new questions over what exactly Rafiei’s role in Mayor Farrah Khan’s circle was during the months between when they claimed to part ways and Rafiei signed the plea agreement. The texts, which stretch from Sept. 2022 to Jan. 2023, show that Rafiei was regularly speaking to Chi about policy and Khan’s campaign."

Farrah Khan publicly said she cut ties with Melahat Rafiei after news broke she was arrested by the FBI, but city records show Rafiei continued speaking to city staff, indicating it was on the mayor’s behalf.

Irvine's Farrah Khan and Mike Carroll continue to make headlines that embarass the city and should lead to prosecution.

"A scathing new audit obtained by Voice of OC is calling out the Orange County Power Authority, saying the agency’s staff failed to follow best practices, lacked expertise, failed to inform the public and has seen almost three times the statewide average number of customers opt out. " Orange County Supervisor Katrine Foley said that the audit "exposed what we think is a poorly operated and dysfunctional power authority that’s not serving the best interests of the community. I do not have confidence in the leadership over there.”

The report claims the agency failed to follow best practices in staffing and informing the public, and says the agency has seen a historic number of customers opt out.

The OCPA is a crime in progress that has already gotten the attention of the FBI. Everyone involved, board members and staff and anyone behind the scenes, should be keenly aware of that fact -- and that any one of those involved could already have made a deal with the FBI and is now wearing a wire and recording every private conversation, just like Melahat Rafiei did in Anaheim. Given this recent history of FBI informers in OC politics, how could anyone involved with the OCPA be dumb enough to trust anyone else involved with the OCPA?

Under the new policy approved by the board, staff can remove any information posted on the power authority’s page they feel is inaccurate or demeaning to the agency.

‼️ As you know, the residential rollout switching Irvine residents from SCE to OCPA happened October 1st (with the exception of those with solar). So this month's meeting was critical to gauging the OCPA's viability.

The public deserves a report on the rollout, the numbers of those who opted-down, opted-out, and the monthly financials. Instead, CEO Brian Probolsky has cancelled the meeting.

The need for transparency and accountability continue at the OCPA.

Dear Friends,

This evening, I contacted Mayor Farrah Khan to congratulate her on her re-election. Based on current results, she will serve another two years as Mayor of Irvine. While votes continue to be tallied, I want to express my deepest gratitude to those who came alongside in support of my candidacy.

I ran this race with my whole heart and full effort. Going from community advocate to candidate was quite a shift but I’m grateful for the opportunity to shine a light on so many issues that I had been advocating for over the years with Irvine Watchdog.

Watching every City Council meeting takes tremendous dedication but Watchdog volunteers have persisted for years as a service to our community. The public has the power to hold our government accountable and it is my sincere hope that my campaign has inspired many to learn more about what is happening at City Hall and help keep watch in some form.

Our incredible campaign team of volunteers, donors, and supporters stepped up in ways I never would have imagined when I first entered the race. I am immensely proud of the coalition we built and the campaign we ran with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, working together, full of purpose, hope, and dedication.

It was clear that thousands of voters share our vision for Irvine, and recognize the need to increase transparency and accountability. While these goals transcend any particular individual or campaign, I am incredibly grateful for your trust and support along the way.

Onward and upward for Irvine!

Sincerely,
Branda
