🚓🏁 Today, a few members of the Irondale Police Department traded their patrol vehicles for go-karts as they participated in some friendly “pursuit training” at the all-new K1 Speed in the City of Irondale!

The occasion also marked the soft opening of K1 Speed, one of the newest additions to The Hill. This exciting indoor go-kart racing destination brings a new entertainment option to Irondale, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our community.

A big thank you to K1 Speed for hosting our officers and providing a fun venue for some off-duty team building and friendly competition. We can’t wait to see Irondale residents and visitors alike enjoying this exciting new attraction and experiencing everything K1 Speed has to offer. 🏁🚓

🚔🚒☎️⚖️ Take a look at the latest rendering of Irondale’s proposed Public Safety Building!

The facility would bring together the Irondale Police Department, Irondale Fire Department Administration, Irondale 911 Dispatch and Communications, and Municipal Court under one roof. The building is planned for Highway 78 on the site of the former Marks Fitzgerald building and Regions Bank property.

It’s just another exciting step as we continue investing in the future of public safety in Irondale!

🥎 The Divine Nine brought the energy to Ruffner Park Sports Complex last weekend for a scholarship fundraiser that was packed with fun, fellowship, and friendly competition!

It was so much fun watching everyone compete for bragging rights while supporting students and helping make college more accessible through scholarships.

Congratulations to the JCAC Deltas for taking the crown on the sorority side over the AKAs and Sigma Gamma Rhos, and to the Alabaster-Pelham Nupes for coming out on top against the Alphas and Omegas on the fraternity side.

It’s always exciting to see our investment in Ruffner Park Sports Complex paying dividends as people from across the region gather in Irondale to enjoy this first-class facility. ❤️

🚒 For Irondale Fire Department Captain David Brasher, serving the community goes far beyond fighting fires…

Captain Brasher wears many hats— community education officer, fire safety instructor, train conductor, and teacher of all things gardening and beekeeping. This week, he brought those passions to life by taking the train to Irondale Community School to provide a special experience for students participating in the SOAR program.

He also made a stop at the A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club-Irondale, where he shared his knowledge of growing tomatoes, squash, and other garden favorites, helping inspire the next generation to get their hands in the dirt and discover the joy of gardening.

Thank you, Captain Brasher, for all you do to educate, inspire, and invest in our community! 👏🍅🚂
