Our students were excited to discover where they belong and officially join their ICS Houses! From the anticipation of being sorted to celebrating with their new House family, the building was FULL of excitement! 🙌🏾🔥

This is more than just a color—it’s about belonging, teamwork, leadership, character, and COMMUNITY!

Through collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on experiences, our educators stepped into the role of learners—experiencing the same type of meaningful STEAM learning we want to bring into our classrooms every day.

Questae comes from the Latin language and represents mindset. Gold House reminds us that the way we think, approach challenges, and believe in ourselves can make all the difference. With the right mindset, obstacles become opportunities to grow!

🦅 The Gold House mascot is the eagle, representing freedom and strength. Eagles can reach incredible heights and soar through the sky—reminding our students to rise above challenges, set their sights high, and keep moving forward.

Today we’re celebrating SYMPONIA — The Red House, House of Compassion! ❤️

Symponia comes from the Greek language and means compassion. Red House reminds us that one of the greatest ways we can make a difference is by showing love, understanding, kindness, and concern for others.

🐘 The Red House mascot is the elephant! Elephants never forget a face or a person they have met. They are caring creatures known to mourn their loved ones and even help others in need. Their strong sense of connection makes them the perfect representation of compassion and community.

❤️ Their symbol is the heart, representing love and compassion. In Red House, students strive to show acceptance, love, and compassion toward everyone.

🎃 Challenge ACCEPTED, ICS family! September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re ALL IN for the 👻 JEFCOED Trick-or-Treat Attendance Challenge!

Throughout September, our classes will compete for the chance to experience the ultimate Halloween field trip! The elementary/intermediate classes with the highest average daily attendance will head to the Board of Education on Friday, October 30!

If one of our classes wins, students will:

👻Dress up in costume
🍬Trick-or-treat through the Central Office
🤝Meet Superintendent Dr. Gonsoulin

The competition starts September 1st. Let’s make every day count! 💯​

Today we’re shining the spotlight on INTEGRIDAD — The Black House, House of Integrity!

Integridad comes from the Spanish language and means integrity. Black House reminds us that true character is shown by choosing to do what is right—even when no one is watching.

🦇 The Black House mascot is the bat! Bats can find their way in total darkness and play an important role in nature as pollinators. They remind us that even when the path isn't always clear, we can allow our values and integrity to guide us.

⚖️ Their symbol is the scale, representing the balance of truth and fairness. In Black House, doing what is right matters!

Today we’re shining the spotlight on SCOPO — The Green House, House of Purpose! 💚

The name Scopo comes from the Italian language and means purpose—and our Green House students are learning that when you know your purpose, you can move forward with confidence and direction.

🐕 The Green House mascot is the German Shepherd, a breed known for having a job and a purpose. German Shepherds are intelligent, hardworking, loyal, courageous, and known for helping others—qualities we encourage our Green House students to demonstrate every day!

🧭 Their symbol is the compass, representing direction. Green House reminds us that having purpose means knowing where you're going and staying FOCUSED on the journey.
