Looks like we are getting a storm!

Make sure you take some time to prep today!

1. Make plans to stay home through Tuesday.
2. Stock up on groceries, water and supplies
3. Charge your phone and keep a flashlight/candles handy
4. If you’re shoveling do it frequently so the load is light.

🎆 **Firework Safety Tips from Antonia Fire Protection District** 🎆

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, your safety is our top priority. Fireworks can be thrilling, but they can also be dangerous if not handled properly. Here are some essential firework safety tips to ensure a fun and safe celebration:

1. **Purchase Legally:** Only buy fireworks from licensed vendors. Illegal fireworks can be unpredictable and hazardous.
2. **Follow Instructions:** Always read and follow the label directions on fireworks packaging.
3. **Supervise Children:** Keep a close watch on children when fireworks are being used. Only adults should handle fireworks.
4. **Keep Water Handy:** Have a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of fire or other mishaps.
5. **Light One at a Time:** Light only one firework at a time and never attempt to relight a “dud” firework.
6. **Maintain Distance:** Always light fireworks from a safe distance and never hold them in your hand while igniting.
7. **Dispose Properly:** After the fireworks have completely burned out, douse the spent device with plenty of water before discarding to prevent a trash fire.
8. **Be Mindful of Surroundings:** Avoid lighting fireworks near dry grass, trees, or other flammable materials.

Remember, safety first! Enjoy the festivities and have a spectacular and safe Independence Day! If you have any questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Stay safe,
Antonia Fire Protection District
