Ira Township Parks and Recreation Ira's Municipal Park has corn hole, gaga ball, 12 hole disc golf, volleyball, basketball, pickleball and trails. The path is available year 'round!

Water Works Park offers an ADA Kayak Launch thanks to Grants from Ralph Wilson Fund, Community Foundation Family Fund, SCC PARC and SCC EDA! Ira Township Municipal Park is a 25-acre parcel adjacent to the municipal offices may be entered either from Short Cut Road or from the Ira Township municipal parking lot. The site includes a pavilion, toddler & child playscapes and sand box, picnic tables, grill and cleared picnic areas. Within the park is the nature trail walking path, well maintained and attractively traversed by Swan Creek. There are several benches and two foot bridges for residents to enjoy. Please remember to keep your pet on a leash and put all waste disposal in the trash cans provided under the pavilion. HOURS Dawn to Dusk, year round. Pavilion can be rented for private us. $50 for Residents, $100 for non resident. Otherwise, use of the pavilion is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Water Works Park is located at the end of Waterworks Drive has a fishing pier, paved walkway, and handicap access. Park is accessible by foot or bike.

In 2025, Ira Township was awarded a DNR Recreation Passport Grant for an ADA Compliant Treehouse and Nature Trails at Swan Creek Park. We have received tremendous support from Community Foundation of St Clair County for this exciting project in the form of Consultants and a Challenge Grant Award from the Rural Communities Project!

Notice of Public Review Period and Public Hearing on the Proposed Ira Township 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan. The Ira Township proposed 5-year Parks and Recreation Plan is available for public review and comment until October 14, 2026. The Public Hearing will be held on November 2, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the Ira Township Fire Hall, 7065 Meldrum Road, Ira Township, MI 48023.
