As police officers, there is no greater feeling than knowing we are making a positive difference in our community. We take an oath to serve and protect all people with courtesy, professionalism, and integrity. Police Week is a time for our nation to honor and reflect on the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice made by law enforcement personnel across the country.
Few officers seek recognition for what they do. We are members of the community as well, and we simply want the places we live and serve to be safe, welcoming, and feel like home. Achieving that goal is what brings us the greatest sense of accomplishment and reward.
At the same time, we recognize that the true purpose of Police Week is to pay tribute to the men and women in law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, commitment, and selflessness will never be forgotten. During this week, and every day, the Iowa Park Police Department proudly honors those heroes and the legacy they leave behind.
