This morning, we officially opened our newly updated Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization Lab, a major step forward in the specialized heart care we provide to our Veterans.
With upgraded technology, clearer imaging, and safer, more efficient procedures, this new space strengthens our ability to deliver the high‑quality care Veterans deserve.
A huge thank‑you to the dedicated teams across Nursing, Biomed, IT, Engineering, Logistics, and the Cath Lab who worked tirelessly to bring this project to life. Your teamwork made today possible.

Our Peer Specialists at the Iowa City VA Health Care System hosted a Veteran bowling outing and it was more than just a great time at the lanes.
Peer Support outings like this are an important part of our recovery‑focused care. They help Veterans connect with others who’ve walked similar paths, reduce feelings of isolation, and strengthen emotional well‑being through shared experiences and community.

A big thank‑you to Iowa City VA Voluntary Services and Colonial Lanes for supporting this event and helping us continue to create meaningful opportunities for connection.

Stay healthy this BBQ season with these food safety tips :

⏰ Don’t leave food out for more than 2 hours.

🧊 Refrigerate leftovers right away so that the internal temperature reaches 41°F or below within 6 hours.

🚫 Don’t take chances with your health! If you don’t know how long food has been sitting around, toss it out.

Yesterday we had the honor of delivering a personalized plaque from the VA Secretary, Doug Collins, to our Navy Centennial Veteran.
Maynard Brad Reynolds served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. It is thanks to patriots like Mr. Reynolds that we have the freedoms we do. Please join us in wishing him a happy 100th birthday, and gratitude for his service to our nation.
