Did you know you can get free monthly checks of your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation on the first Monday of every month? The next session is from 9 to 11 AM, TOMORROW, Monday, June 1, in Room 103 at the Iowa City Senior Center (28 S. Linn St., Iowa City). The checks are a partnership between the Senior Center and the University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital, a venture with Encompass Health. No appointment is necessary, just drop in!

You can find out more about paying for long-term care through Medicaid in a free presentation by attorney Jill Watskey this Thursday, May 28, from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Iowa City Senior Center. Ms. Watskey will talk about qualifying for Medicaid, the division of assets, the options for spending down assets, the five-year look-back period for making gifts, and the exceptions to the gifting rules. Registration is required; register online or by calling the Senior Center at 319-356-5220.
