Rep. Miller-Meeks needs to explain herself.
While the contribution may be small, accepting campaign money from someone facing the kinds of allegations that Rep. Max Miller has publicly raised deserves scrutiny. To date, we have not seen a call for accountability or resignation.

Elected officials are judged not only by the policies they support, but also by the company they keep. Voters deserve to know why Rep. Miller-Meeks is willing to associate with individuals facing such serious accusations in order to maintain political support.

With 58 days to go, now is the time to check your voter registration, talk with your friends and family about their voting plans, and make sure your voice is heard.

We stand against domestic violence. Every time.

Building stronger communities isn’t just about elections. It’s about showing up year-round. Thanks to our volunteers for helping keep Johnson County beautiful! Now that the cleanup is done, ready cheer on the Hawkeyes! 🖤💛

For the record, Lahn was the only republican they didn’t endorse. Guess money can’t buy everything. 🤔

If you can help out, please do!

As temperatures increase significantly this weekend, Shelter House urgently needs donations of bottled water. Help us keep some of our most vulnerable community members safe from dehydration, heat stroke, and other heat-related illness by ensuring access to clean drinking water.

You may drop any donations off at our Emergency Shelter at 429 Southgate Avenue in Iowa City. And thank you, thank you, thank you.

Today, in 1963, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

If you have a few moments today, consider reading or revisiting his words. They remain a powerful reminder that inclusion, equality, and justice are not only ideals worth striving for. Words that are essential to building a stronger future for everyone.

The work of creating a better world is never finished, but progress is possible when we continue moving forward together. 💙

“I say to you today, my friends, though, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

“I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream . . . I have a dream that one day in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today…”
