University of Iowa AirCare AirCare was the 11th EMS helicopter in the US, and the first hospital based EMS helicopter in Iowa. CAMTS Accredited since 2013.

AirCare has flown more than 30,000 patients over 3,000,000 miles. Our Vision

To actively partner with referring colleagues and serve as the air and mobile critical care provider of choice by providing innovative care, excellent service, and exceptional outcomes for all patients regardless of their age, injury/illness, or ability to pay.

Behind that number are thousands of patients, families, flights, long shifts, late nights, and countless moments where Mark has been there when someone needed critical care the most.

We’re proud to have Mark as part of the AirCare family and grateful for everything he has contributed along the way. Mark has been a part of AirCare 2 since the very beginning, when the base first opened its doors in 1988 in Waterloo, IA.
