Join us for Caring Cadences: Broadway Strings for Wellbeing, a welcoming live performance by the University of Iowa’s Dunn Quartet designed to lift spirits, spark memories, and create connection through music. Featuring familiar Broadway-inspired tunes and a relaxed, music therapy-informed approach, this is more than a concert, it’s an experience meant to be enjoyed at your own pace.

We had a successful first harvest of the season at ICSC’s Give Back Garden yesterday, enjoying the sunshine and picking several pounds of locally grown lettuce and spinach for our Simple & Free Pantry Exchange. Thanks to our volunteers for cultivating and nourishing our community!

Parables of the Future: Black Future Fest — the month-long Afrofuturist cultural series produced right here at the Iowa City Senior Center — has just been named the TOP PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY for the 2026 Programs of Excellence Modernizing Senior Centers Innovation Award.

One of six senior centers in the nation. Top in our category. Nationally recognized.

This festival happened because of this community. The people who showed up. The partners who said yes. The artists who brought their full selves. The participants who filled those rooms — and then filled them some more.

Iowa City made something worth sharing with the country. And now the country will learn from us.
