Several students recently enjoyed a day of fun and adventure at Camp Tuhsmeheta or Camp T. Camp T is an outdoor education and recreation area for children. It provides hiking trails, rock climbing walls, lake activities, and sports activities with a focus on programming for students who are blind/low vision and deaf/hard of hearing. Our students were invited to Camp T with students from Ottawa ISD and several other schools for a chance to play, make new friends, and to have some fun outdoors.

Thursday, May 28, 2026, we had the privilege of celebrating five outstanding graduates from our ISD Transition Training Sites, The House and Stepping Forward.

The graduation ceremony and luncheon that followed were a beautiful way to honor these students, their families, and the dedicated staff who have supported them along the way. Each graduate has demonstrated tremendous growth, determination, and resilience, and we could not be prouder of their accomplishments.

We gathered on Thursday, April 23rd, to celebrate the changemakers in education. At our ICISD PAC (Parent Advisory Council) Awards Celebration, we honored the incredible staff, students, and community partners who lead with heart, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to students with disabilities.

Inspired by Joe Beckman’s message, The Calling, the evening reminded us that being a changemaker isn’t about recognition, it’s about showing up, building connections, and making a difference in the lives of others every single day.

Thank you Ionia County ISD for planting some pinwheels and bringing awareness to our community about Child Abuse Prevention Month! Blue pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse prevention. The pinwheel represents the great childhood that every child deserves, and the role we each play in providing a loving and supportive environment for the children in our lives.
