Friday, December 19th 12:49 p.m. - The strong winds have left a number of trees and limbs across the trail. Clean up is taking place, however please be mindful some areas may be blocked by fallen limbs until clean up is completed. Use caution. JK SWRT

Dave is doing a great job getting the trail trimmed. He wants you to know he is trimming one day and coming back the next day to clean it up. He’s leaving room to get through so no delays. 😀 You don’t need to try to throw it off. Have a great ride!!❤️

Recently we have received an inquiry as to the murals painted on the connector trail fence between the Southwind Railtrail and the Lehigh Portland Park and Trails. Permission and commissioning of artwork there is under the authority of Thrive Allen County. They hold the lease agreement with the property owner the fence is on and manage that connector trail portion of the area trail system.

Thanks to most of you for being patient with the guys clearing the trail. Please continue staying off the trail until further notice. Won’t be long now.

Thanks to a supporter, today Dave will be running a mini escavator to speed the clean up on the trail. So they are working to get the trail open as soon as possible. Thanks for you cooperation.

For those who like to plan ahead:

By all appearances this Tuesday’s July 18th DQ ride on the Southwind looks to be KO’d. Friday’s storm has blown down a number of trees. In a handful of places downed trees are totally blocking the trail and it will require a good number of days to get it all cleared. Jay
