🌱 City of Inkster Compost Collection Begins April 6! 🌱

The City of Inkster Department of Public Services (DPS) is pleased to announce that Compost Collection starts April 6, 2026, and runs through December 2026.

♻️ Pickup Schedule:
Compost will be collected on your regular trash day.

πŸƒ Accepted Materials Include:
β€’ Tree branches
β€’ Shrubs & brush
β€’ Grass clippings
β€’ Leaves

🚫 Important Reminder:
Plastic trash bags are NOT accepted for compost collection.

πŸ“¦ Preparation Guidelines:
β€’ Bundle tree branches and shrubs in 4-foot lengths
β€’ Each bundle must weigh 50 pounds or less

Friends of the Rouge and Wayne County Parks are hosting a stakeholder engagement session to share design and construction plans for Rouge Gateway Greenway Phases II and III in Dearborn.

The proposed 2.9 mile trail will connect to the existing Rouge Gateway Greenway and extend downstream toward Rotunda Drive.

There will be an active crew out working to get the water main repaired. You may experience interruptions with your water or reduced water pressure. If you experience any discolored water, please run your water for 5-10 minutes. City of Inkster, Inkster, MI, Residents: The City of Inkster has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 11pm Saturday, January 24th, 2026, until 6pm Monday January 26, 2026. This means that all vehicles, trash cans, and recycling bins must be removed from all city streets. Please place your trash and recycle bins above the curb. If your vehicles are not removed, they will be ticketed and/or towed at the officer’s discretion. By moving your vehicles off the streets, it ensures that your street is cleared of the accumulated snow and will make it easier for you to drive when it is safe to go out. Below is the City of Inkster’s Snow Removal Policy... The Department of Public Services will plow all streets during a Snow Emergency. A snow emergency is declared when 4 or more inches of snow has fallen on our surface. Under normal circumstances of snow fall (less than 4 Inches) we will only plow major roads and emergency routes, this Does Not include residential streets.
