April 5 is Gold Star Spouses Day—a day to recognize and honor the spouses of fallen service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Behind every uniform is a family, and behind every hero lost is someone who carries their memory forward with strength, love, and resilience.

📘 Did you know?
The term “Gold Star” dates back to World War I, when families displayed service flags with a blue star for every active-duty member. If their loved one died in service, the blue star was replaced with gold—symbolizing honor and sacrifice.

Today, we pause to reflect on the courage of those left behind, and to thank the spouses who continue to uphold the legacies of their loved ones.

Fact: The average age of a U.S. service member in Vietnam was just 19, highlighting the sacrifice of so many young Americans.

Many Vietnam veterans returned home without the recognition they deserved. Today, we proudly say: Thank you for your service. Welcome home. 💙

These highly trained heroes have saved countless lives in combat zones, search-and-rescue operations, and law enforcement missions. Their loyalty and courage are second to none.
