TRAFFIC ALERT / POWER OUTAGE ⚠️

There is currently a power outage affecting the area from Houston Street to Main Street. The traffic signal at Main Street and 2nd Street is also without power.

Please note that this traffic signal is controlled by TxDOT, and temporary stop signs cannot be placed at the intersection. Motorists should treat the non-functioning traffic signal as a four-way stop and proceed with caution, yielding to other vehicles as required by law.

If you are experiencing a power outage or have questions regarding electrical service, please contact AEP directly to report outages or obtain updates.

🚨 PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUEST – GRAFFITI VANDALISM 🚨

The Ingleside Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for graffiti vandalism at N.O. Simmons Park.

On June 9, 2026, at approximately 9:44 p.m., an Ingleside Police Officer discovered graffiti painted inside the men's restroom at N.O. Simmons Park, located at 2355 Highway 361. The vandalism caused damage to City property, with repair costs estimated at approximately $200.

The graffiti appears to be a distinctive tag, shown in the attached photograph. Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who recognizes this tag, has seen similar graffiti elsewhere in the Coastal Bend area, or has information regarding the individual responsible.

Those wishing to remain anonymous may submit a tip through Crime Stoppers. Anonymous tips can help investigators identify suspects while protecting the identity of the reporting person.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – WORK-FROM-HOME RESHIPPING FRAUD 🚨

The Ingleside Police Department is warning residents about a work-from-home employment scam involving a company operating under the name "Forwardleag" (Forwardleag LLC).

Scammers are posing as a legitimate logistics company and offering remote positions such as "Parcel Expert" or "Shipping Coordinator" with promises of high monthly pay and flexible work from home.

📦 HOW THE SCAM WORKS:
• Victims are instructed to receive packages at their home.
• They are told to photograph the contents, repackage the items, and ship them to another location using new shipping labels.
• The merchandise is often purchased using stolen credit card information.
• Participants unknowingly become "parcel mules," helping criminals move stolen property and conceal fraudulent activity.
• Victims frequently report never receiving their promised wages and losing contact with their supposed employer.

🚩 RED FLAGS:
• A company asks you to receive and reship packages from your home.
• Unrealistic pay for simple tasks.
• New, poorly designed websites or suspicious company information.
• Requests for your driver's license, Social Security number, banking information, or other personal documents before legitimate hiring procedures are completed.
• Staff profiles that appear generic, suspicious, or AI-generated.

✅ IF YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED:

• Do NOT send money for shipping supplies or any other business expenses.
• Stop communicating with the company immediately.
• Save all emails, contracts, text messages, and shipping records.
• Report the fraud to the Better Business Bureau and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
• If you provided personal information, consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze and follow identity theft recovery guidance through the Federal Trade Commission.

Remember: Legitimate employers do not hire random individuals to receive and reship packages from their homes.
