The City of Indio Office of Public Art wants to share as many arts opportunities with our local artists as possible. The City of Palm Desert has an art opportunity open to Indio residents as well. See contact information below to participate.
Palm Desert is inviting artists who are interested in creating artwork to beautify local traffic signal cabinets to submit their proposals to the City.
The City is seeking up to three artists to create artwork for three sets of traffic signal cabinets at the following locations: the northeast corner of El Paseo and San Luis Rey, the northeast corner of Highway 111 and Fred Waring, and the northwest corner of Highway 111 and Monterey.
Artists are encouraged to submit their initial designs to the City. Each original artwork must contain one of three words (i.e., “Equality”, “Kindness”, or “Respect”). Up to three artists will be chosen to receive a $500 honorarium for their original digital art design(s) to be installed as a laminate wrap on the traffic signal cabinets.
Interested artists should submit a completed artist application form, current résumé, up to 10 photographs or digital images (JPEG or PDF) of past work along with a corresponding image list, a detailed description of proposed design theme, and full color scanned or computer generated concept drawings (JPEG or PDF) of proposed artwork including three views for each design submitted (one splayed view and two detailed views). Artists can submit up to three proposals each.

All materials must be received by Monday, November 30, 2020 at 5 p.m. (receipt, not postmark deadline).
