𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬: DPW Stormwater Engineering and Operations crews are out surveying the infrastructure around the county in the wake of the recent flooding event.

Our crews have been hard at work on this for several days. They’ve even gotten a drone’s-eye view to ensure the City’s infrastructure has not been damaged.

This will help us determine the need for more in-depth analysis going forward.

Indy DPW has contracted the emergency repair of the River Rd./Brandt Rd. flood washout to F.A. Wilhelm Construction Co., Inc. Work will mobilize in the area starting 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠:
F.A. Wilhelm will deliver pumps to the area this afternoon to commence the draining of flood waters from the impacted portion of River Rd. It is estimated that we will reach normal pool levels of Crystal Lake by next week. This will allow further inspection of damage caused by the flood.
We will begin moving dirt on the west side of the road after our initial pump down.
To complete the necessary sanitary sewer line inspections, water will be further pumped from Crystal Lake to 7 feet below normal pool level. 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐬. These levels are anticipated to be reached by the end of September. Residents should note that, once this water level is reached, that would be a good time to complete any repairs to any of their docks that may have been damaged.

Further details will be sent directly to residents by informational postcard, communication with HOAs, and with regular updates to be provided via social channels.
