❤️Heartwarming News from Fishers Fire Department! ❤ A baby was safely surrendered in a Safe Haven Baby Boxes located at Station 91. This same resource is available in Decatur Township at Station 74, 3750 S. Foltz Street.
A Safe Haven Baby Box is a safety device installed in the exterior wall of designated fire stations or hospitals. It allows a mother to place her newborn inside the box, which then locks automatically from the outside. EMS can retrieve the baby from the interior side, ensuring the infant receives immediate care.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes are a compassionate and innovative solution designed to prevent the illegal abandonment of newborns. These boxes provide a safe, secure, and anonymous way for mothers in crisis to surrender their babies if they are unable to care for them.
