Hoosiers are saving $0.59/gallon at the pump. Pretty nice, right?

Well, the gas tax suspension is temporary - and your tax savings on basic goods could have been bigger.

Earlier this year, Indiana House Republicans had the chance to eliminate the 7% sales tax on your utility bills and voted no.

Hoosiers' utility bills have surged over the past year, meaning the state is collecting even more as your bills have gone up.

Data centers get an exemption from sales tax on their utility bills. You don't. House Republicans should join House Democrats to fix this.

Check out how your state representative voted on eliminating the sales tax on residential utility bills below.

Is Indiana's MAHA agenda real - or just a rebrand?

Indiana Democrats fought to keep environmental protections mandatory. A majority of Indiana Statehouse Republicans passed a bill that makes it optional for the state to act when a polluter puts your health at risk and Gov. Braun signed it.

At the federal level, the majority of U.S. House Democrats got an important accountability provision for pesticide companies passed in the Farm Bill. But most of Indiana's U.S. House Republican lawmakers chose their corporate friends over your health.

The receipts are in.

🚨 HOUSE DEM WIN ALERT AND CALL TO ACTION 🚨

We know you've been feeling the pain of gas getting close to $5 a gallon.

Last month, Rep. Gregory W. Porter called on Gov. Braun to suspend both the sales and excise tax on gas. Today, he did just that. This means you will be saving 59 cents per gallon in May. We are thankful to Gov. Braun, but he can do more - he can also lobby his allies in D.C. to ease prices at the pump.

Gas was affordable until the president chose to escalate in Iran with no clear strategy, no defined goals, and no exit plan. That choice disrupted global energy markets, and Hoosiers are paying for it every time they fill up. Suspending both gas taxes gives Hoosiers some savings, but we're putting a band-aid on a wound the White House created.

Will you join us in calling on Gov. Braun and our U.S. senators and congressman to pick up the phone and ask President Trump to bring an end to the conflict in Iran? Hoosiers need lower gas prices for the long term, not just a break over the next month.
