Eliza Blaker School 55

Eliza Blaker School 55 Eliza A. Blaker Elementary School #55 is part of Indianapolis Public Schools and located on the near Blaker School #55 was dedicated on May 22, 1958.

Blaker, 1854-1926, was the first Superintendent of the Indianapolis Free Kindergarten. As the founder of Teachers College of Indianapolis, she inspired hundreds of kindergarten and elementary teachers. After her death, the Teachers College became the Elementary Education department of Butler University. She was known and loved as a teacher, educator, and outstanding citizen.

We love when it is KDO time! Our partnership with Kids Dance Outreach is just one of the ways we bring experiences to students in our building. Connecting as a classroom through joyful dance that instills confidence and applauds persistence is what it is all about.
