Officer Jones on being named North District Officer of the Month for September 2026!
During a recent increase in motor vehicle thefts across North District neighborhoods, Officer Jones demonstrated outstanding initiative, persistence, and proactive police work.
On September 3, Officer Jones took the initiative to search for a stolen vehicle reported in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood. Using his knowledge of the area and information gathered through his work in the community, he located the stolen vehicle in the 3900 block of Cornelius Avenue.
Officer Jones coordinated additional officers to safely detain both occupants. His investigation led to the arrest of a wanted auto theft suspect, and the stolen vehicle was returned to its grateful owners approximately five hours after it was reported stolen!
Officer Jonesโs dedication and proactive efforts not only helped reunite residents with their property but also addressed an ongoing concern affecting North District neighborhoods.
His work earned appreciation from residents and neighborhood leaders alike.
