In 2003, the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis established a specialty law review focused on health care law and policy: the Indiana Health Law Review. Now in its eigth full year of publication, the journal continues to provide informative articles on important health law topics and issues that academic professionals and practitioners encounter. The Law Review complements the school’

s existing health law program, which is consistently recognized as one of the top ten programs in the nation. It benefits from the expertise of the William S. Hall Center for Law and Health, co-directed by Professors Eleanor Kinney and David Orentlicher, as well as our faculty advisor, Professor Nicolas Terry. The scope of the Indiana Health Law Review includes bioethics, malpractice liability, managed care, anti-trust, health care organizations, medical-legal research, legal medicine, food and drug, and other current health-related topics.

Jessica Kolanowski is a 3L Day student at IU McKinney from Saint John, Indiana. Before law school, Jessica attended Butler University where she graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Management Information Systems and a minor in Spanish. She is working toward her Health Law and Corporate and Commercial Law certificates. Jessica is the 3L Day Representative for the SBA, the SBA Representative for the Business Law Association, the Treasurer for the Health Law Society, an IU McKinney Student Ambassador, and the Executive Business Editor for the Indiana Health Law Review. Last year, Jessica externed with Franciscan Health. This past summer, she worked with Kelly Law Offices. She is currently externing with Fiorvento Law.​

Anthony Singer is a 4th-year JD/MPH candidate from Indianapolis, Indiana. Anothony is the Executive Managing Editor for the Indiana Health Law Review. Before law school, Anthony attended Indiana University - Bloomington, where he received a B.A. in English with minors in Economics and Urban Planning/Community Development. While in law school,
Anthony has worked for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, the IU Addictions Grand Challenge Initiative, the Hoosier State Press Association, IU Health, the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration, and the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross. Anthony is currently a member of the IU Health Law Scholars program, the IU McKinney Health Law Society, and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Anthony has previously been a member of the Health Law Society's executive board and a Fellow of the Dean's Tutorial Society.

Meet the Executive Board:

Alexis Weaver is a third-year JD/MPA student from Indianapolis. Prior to law school, Alexis graduated from IUPUI with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. At McKinney, Alexis was named a 2020 Program on Law and State Government Fellow. She was also named the 2019 C. Michael Pitts Fellow at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Alexis competed in the 2019 National Health Law Moot Court Competition, served on the executive boards for both the Health Law Society and Women’s Caucus, and was selected for publication as a Note candidate for the Indiana Health Law Review. She has interned for the City of Indianapolis’s Office of Corporation Counsel, Indiana Legal Services, and Eskenazi Health. Alexis is the Executive Note Development Editor for IHLR.

Meet the Executive Board:

Rani Amani is a 3L student from Naperville, Illinois and the Editor-in-Chief of the Indiana Health Law Review. Before law school, Rani attended Purdue University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a double minor in Spanish and Philosophy. She served as an extern for the Honorable Justice Goff of the Indiana Supreme Court and the Honorable Judge Dinsmore of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Rani has also served as a Legal Communications and Analysis Fellow for the Dean’s Tutorial Society, and she was named to the Order of the Barristers in the fall of 2019. Rani is the Assistant Chief Justice Secretary for the Moot Court Society and the Co-Chair for the Women’s Caucus. She will spend the summer of 2020 as a Summer Associate at Riley Bennet Egloff LLP.
