More than 280 neighbors housed. And we're not done yet. 💙

Streets to Home Indy is approaching a major milestone, and we're grateful to FOX59 News and reporter Rachael Wilkerson for sharing the progress our community is making together.

Through coordinated outreach, housing assistance, and supportive services, Streets to Home Indy has helped more than 280 neighbors move from the streets into housing. Now, as we approach our first-phase housing goal, we're preparing for an even bigger chapter: strengthening the systems that help people find housing, remain housed, and avoid homelessness in the first place.

Behind every number are people, relationships, and a community of partners working toward lasting solutions.

Special thanks to Rachael Wilkerson WRTV for helping share the purpose behind this work, and to the outreach teams, housing providers, healthcare partners, funders, and community members making it possible.

Do you know what's really scary? The barriers to housing are real.

But do you know what's motivating? So is our power to remove them.

Every day, outreach teams, housing providers, advocates, and community partners across Indianapolis are working together to turn obstacles into opportunities and connect more neighbors with the stability they deserve.

We can't solve homelessness through fear or stigma. But we can make meaningful progress through compassion, collaboration, and action.

The challenges are real. So is our collective ability to change what's possible. Help us turn hope into housing. Support the work at chipindy.org/donate

Do you know what’s really scary?
More than 2,000 of our neighbors enter homelessness in Indianapolis each year.

What’s scary are the systemic barriers that can push someone out of stable housing and keep them there.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing the facts behind homelessness in our community and the work being done to create pathways home.

Our neighbors aren’t scary. The hurdles standing between them and home are.

If you’d like to help CHIP continue that work, you can support us here: https://www.chipindy.org/donate/

🌟 2026 Diamond Service Award Winner Spotlight! 🌟

At the 2026 CHIP Celebration, we were honored to recognize Restee Johnson with the Diamond Service Award, CHIP’s signature honor celebrating an individual who has transformed lived experience of homelessness into leadership, advocacy, service, and hope for others. 💎

After more than 20 years of periodically experiencing homelessness, Restee now uses his lived expertise to help shape housing policy, strengthen community engagement, and advocate for systems that better serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We’re grateful to Restee for trusting us with his story, for the work he continues to do in our community, and for showing what can become possible when people have access to housing, support, and opportunity.

🎥 Hear Restee share his story and the journey that brought him to this work.

Congratulations again to our 2026 Diamond Service Award recipient, Restee Johnson. 💙

Downtown Indianapolis is changing, and housing is part of that story.

In a recent IndyStar article look at five trends shaping downtown, Streets to Home Indy is highlighted for helping connect neighbors who had been living outside with stable housing, and wraparound support.

Since January, at least 66 people who had been living downtown have moved into stable residences, while outreach partners have connected with hundreds more neighbors throughout the downtown community.

That progress matters because a stronger downtown isn't simply about development, construction or what we see on the street. It's about creating pathways for people to come home.

We're proud to be part of a collaborative effort demonstrating what is possible when Indianapolis invests in housing, coordinated outreach and long-term stability.

Look what we did together, Indy 💙

Last night, our CHIP Celebration community helped us exceed our $5,000 fundraising goal, raising $5,331.40 to support CHIP’s work connecting people, partners, data, advocacy, and resources across Indianapolis’ homelessness-response system.

That’s 106% of our goal, and every gift, at every level, helped get us there!

Thank you to everyone who gave, bid, showed up, shared the evening with us, and continues to believe in a community where everyone has a safe place to call home.

We’re still taking in what an incredible night it was and we have so many photos, stories, and moments of impact to share with you soon.

For today, we just want to say: Thank you. We did this together.
