Our legal system is based on the presumption of innocence.

Question 1 could give judges more power to detain people before trial, limiting their freedom BEFORE they’ve been found guilty.

Our justice system should protect individual liberties, not put them at risk. Don’t give that away.

When you head to the polls, vote NO on Question 1.

We facilitated our second Board Strategy Session with the Indiana Coalition for Human Services (ICHS), continuing our second year of partnership.

We supported board members as they:
🔹 Explored organizational models from similar organizations across the country
🔹 Discussed ICHS’s current structure and future needs
🔹 Defined their vision for the organization in the years ahead
The result? A clear next step.

The board approved Community Solutions to draft an outline for a new organizational structure based on its identified needs and priorities.

We’re proud to help ICHS turn strategic conversations into actionable plans that strengthen the organization and support long-term sustainability.

Everyone deserves a fair chance… even before their day in court.

When you head out to the polls to cast your vote, vote NO on Question #1.

Question 1 could allow people to be held in jail without bail BEFORE trial, regardless of what they are charged with - including those charged with misdemeanors. Decisions about freedom shouldn’t come down to assumptions about what a person might do.

Vote NO on Question 1 on the ballot.

Community is strongest when we come together to advance a more equitable future.

Last week, we were honored to participate in the Indianapolis Urban League's “Beyond the Record: The Intersection of Resilience, Stability, and Economic Justice” at the Madam Walker Legacy Center. The event featured activist, scholar, and author Angela Davis, whose decades of work on racial justice, economic inequality, incarceration, and social change align closely with our values. Lena joined the event as a panelist, contributing to these important community conversations.

We are committed to collaboration, equity, and building stronger communities. Thank you to the Urban League for bringing Angela Davis as inspiration for people to continue to learn, connect, and move this work forward.

What an informative conversation at the recent Elevation Grantee Convening, bringing Elevation grantees together to discuss community investment, violence prevention, and the work happening across our city!

The convening featured Mayor Joe Hogsett of City of Indianapolis - Government, Rena Allen, Indianapolis City-County Councilor, District 15, and David Muhammad Executive Director of the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform, who shared data and insights from Indianapolis’ violence prevention efforts.

One encouraging takeaway: gun violence has declined 27% over the past year. For Elevation Coach Ashlee Weaver, the conversation was especially meaningful: a full-circle moment after being involved when the city’s prevention work began in 2018.

The Elevation Grant program grew from these efforts, supporting community-led solutions and those working to build safer, stronger communities.

Building stronger communities starts with building stronger leaders…

One way to create change is by growing the capacity of community leaders, organizations, and teams. When people have the knowledge, skills, and support they need, they're better equipped to create solutions that strengthen the systems we all rely on.

We know that reentry support can change lives.

Launched in 2023, the Interdisciplinary Defense System (IDS) Project social workers work with participants to develop reentry plans, connect clients with legal representation, health and mental health services, housing assistance, and community support throughout incarceration, reentry, and beyond. Ashley Barnett and Chad Harrod are the team making this work possible.

One IDS participant shared that the team is “great with keeping in contact and getting things done that they say they will.” From securing a place to stay after release to connecting him with housing assistance and groceries, the IDS team has continued to show up and follow through.

This is why reentry work matters. Successful reentry isn’t just about leaving incarceration… It’s about having the RESOURCES, RELATIONSHIPS, and SUPPORT needed to move forward.

We’re thrilled about the impact IDS is making and grateful to the team for walking alongside clients every step of the way.

Lauren was in Nashville, TN last week for the Brand New Conference (BNC) and came back with plenty of inspiration!

Now in its 15th year, BNC brings together designers and creative minds from around the world to share ideas, perspectives, and the latest thinking around corporate and brand identity.

Two days, eight sessions each day, and lots of creative inspiration. We’re excited to bring some of those fresh ideas into our work…
