It’s hard to find the words to express how wonderful last night was. National Night Out was a huge success thanks to all of our community members coming together to celebrate, laugh, and live.

The Northwest District neighborhoods really showed why they are the best. The food was delicious as usual! We saw bounce houses, face painting, games, music, dancing, and much more!

National Night Out has shown once again what can be accomplished if we all work together and just take the time to listen to one another. With police and community partnership we truly can create something wonderful.

We are truly blessed to serve you all.

We at Northwest District would like to congratulate newly promoted Sgt. Ryan Deakin. Sgt. Deakin was an officer in the Community Resource Unit in the Northwest District for several years. He made a substantial impact in the community and built connections that will benefit IMPD Northwest District for many years.

We will miss Sgt. Deakin, but wish him all the luck on his new adventure with Southwest District.

IMPD Northwest District VCTF and VRT units made an arrest on a suspect who posted himself on social media firing shots in a residential area. During the arrest the officers recovered a Keltec sub2000 firearm. This individual was arrested for Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.

We are grateful nobody was hurt by the suspect’s careless actions and very appreciative of the swift efforts of our VCTF and VRT units.

Major McLemore enjoyed reading time at the Eagle Branch Library. With wonder and excitement the children listened in as Major McLemore lead them on this literary adventure. 📚✨
