Wayne Twp Fire Department, Station 81 serves the Mars Hill, Lafayette Heights, Drexel Gardens, and parts of the West Indianapolis neighborhoods of Indianapolis, Indiana. Each day we provide fire protection, advanced life support EMS, transporting EMS, and hazardous materials mitigation. We serve the needs of our community through professional service in an expedient manner. The men and women who s

erve at station 81 have one mission, and that is to protect the community to which we serve. Station 81 belongs to our neighborhood; As an extension to you, the fire house is managed by Captain Justin Sparks (A-shift). Captain Sparks is supported by Lt. Ted Moore (B-Shift), and Lt. Ryan Rowley (C-shift). Each Officer is teamed with four firefighters, and a medic crew with paramedics and EMT’s. As the Captain, I'm proud and honored to tell our neighborhood that each of these professionals has chosen to be at station 81 because they want to work in, and take care of our neighborhood. Our house is your house. Anyone is welcome at anytime to stop by and say hello, or to bring your children by for a tour. Notably, as a 911 bases service, I can't guarantee we will be there if we are serving the community, but if any one of us is in the house your welcome to come in.

B & C shift took their probationary firefighters and worked on hose stretches on Dec 23 & 24. B shift worked with Decatur Engine 74, a common mutual aid company, and C shift took to the training grounds and worked on stretching up and down stairs. Emergencies don’t stop for holidays, so we train no matter what. Stay tuned to see pictures on how we train with our probationary firefighters to bring skills learned in the academy and work to make them better on the street.
