Milestone Monday! 💙✨

Past Florida District Lieutenant Governor Ava Vancour is continuing to make an impact by creating spaces where students and young women can feel welcomed, inspired and encouraged to be themselves.

Now studying architecture at the University of Virginia, Vancour is balancing the demands of college with a growing platform where she shares her experiences, creativity and everyday life as a student. Through her content, she gives others an authentic look at college life while encouraging students to embrace new experiences, find community and pursue what excites them.

From serving as a Key Club leader to building a space that supports fellow students and reaches hundreds of thousands worldwide, Vancour continues to use her voice to uplift others and let them know they belong.

We’re so excited to see where her journey takes her next!

David Alan Grabell’s lifelong commitment to service began in Key Club and continued through Circle K International and beyond.

At the 2026 Circle K International Convention, Grabell was honored with the CKI Outstanding Alumnus Award, recognizing a lifetime of mentoring, community service and inspiring others to give back.

Alumni on the Move! ⚖️💙

From serving as Key Club International vice president to studying music and political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Carissa Andorf continues to explore new opportunities and put her leadership skills to work!

As an honors student at UNC Chapel Hill, Andorf is gaining hands-on professional experience this summer as a legal intern at Smith Law Firm in Ames, Iowa, U.S. Her internship has given her the opportunity to explore multiple areas of law, work alongside attorneys and gain a closer look at the legal profession.

We’re proud to see Key Club alumni like Andorf continuing to learn, lead and take on new challenges wherever their journeys take them. We can’t wait to see where she goes next!

Throwback Thursday!

This week, we’re taking a look back at the early 1970s with a recording of 1970-71 Key Club International President Stephen F. Kolzak speaking at the 1971 convention in San Francisco, California, U.S.

Kolzak went on to make his mark well beyond Key Club. He built a successful career as a casting director working on movie productions such as "Altered States" (1980) and "Bachelor Party" (1984), as well as the television series "Cheers" (1982).

Before his passing in 1990, Kolzak became a prominent advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and worked to challenge stereotypes and improve LGBTQ+ representation in the entertainment industry. In his honor, GLAAD established the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, presented annually to an openly LGBTQ+ member of the entertainment or media community who has made a significant difference in LGBTQ+ representation.

The legacy of Kolzak and this award continued when "Wicked" star Cynthia Erivo received the 2025 Stephen F. Kolzak Award, joining a long list of LGBTQ+ artists and advocates recognized for their contributions to entertainment and representation.

From Key Club International president to a leader in entertainment and LGBTQ+ advocacy, Kolzak’s impact reached far beyond his years in Key Club, and his legacy continues to be recognized today.

We’re saddened to learn of the passing of Tommy John, a former Indiana District Key Club member whose remarkable baseball career left an enduring legacy.
