On April 10th, Jacobin Book Club will be getting together to discuss György Lukács's "Reification and the Consciousness of the Proletariat," an essay from his wider work, "History and Class Consciousness."

In this work, Lukács explores the phenomenon of reification, wherein we treat abstract and "unreal" ideas as concrete and immutable, and how this phenomenon reinforces Capitalism in the minds of the working class. This is a really interesting work with a lot to discuss, so you don't want to miss it.
