Afghan American Community Center Inc. - AACC The Afghan American Community Center (AACC), a non-profit organization in Indiana, was established in October 2022 in Indianapolis.

Our vision: An empowered, self-sustaining, supportive, and engaged Afghan-American community.

𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐟𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐐𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐳𝐚𝐝.

The exhibit, called Stories From a Kite Runner: The Human Desire for Freedom, is an immersive experience that celebrates the beauty, resilience, and rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan through a collection of paintings and handmade kites.

Surrounding visitors overhead, a sky of colorful kites transforms the gallery into a space of wonder, inviting audiences to experience the joy, creativity, and symbolism of flight.

𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨! Visit the studios of over 40 Harrison Center artists, and discover new favorites.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐤, Hannah Kaminer, a musician from Asheville, NC, will perform songs from her two 48-hour residencies. Eden Pixcar-Byeon from Guatemala will perform music from her five-week residency.

𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐲𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦, enjoy performances by Suspended Animation Aerials throughout the evening.

𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲? Grab a bite across the courtyard from The Garnacha Spot food truck for delicious street food. Cool off with free ice cream at the Courtyard entrance!

This past Saturday, our team had the honor of participating in the Asian Festival at the Indiana Historical Society where we proudly showcased the beauty, richness, and heritage of Afghan culture. 🇦🇫✨
