Girls on the Run Marion County Girls on the Run is a program that educates and empowers girls at an early age. We teach life skills through dynamic,
interactive lessons and running games.

Over the course of 10-12 weeks girls in 3rd through 8th grade participate in an after-school program called GOTR. This program empowers and inspires young woman to define their own lives on their own terms. Certified coaches and volunteer assistants set out to deliver the encouraging and positive messages to the girls through physical activity. We want the girls to grow in their beliefs and experi

ences and guide them through their challenges. At the end of the program the girls will compete in a non-competitive 5k run that will give them the confidence of setting and accomplishing goals. “Girls on the Run is an Affiliate Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a

organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and
is free to boldly pursue her dreams.”
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive
youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The program culminates with the girls being physically
and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. Girls on the Run Marion County serves girls in Beech Grove, Decatur, Franklin, IPS, Perry, Speedway, Warren and Wayne school districts.
