Our first graders wrapped up CKLA Unit 2: The Human Body. They worked together to create life-sized bodies and label the different parts they learned about throughout the unit. We are so proud of their teamwork, creativity, and learning!

Perry Township Schools recognized the 2025-2026 Teachers of the Year at the Battle of the Birds game on Friday. We had a great time celebrating Ms. McDonald! Congratulations!

Congratulations to our August Students of the Month! These students were selected for showing the life skill of trustworthiness.

Our 4th graders have finished Unit 1 on personal narratives!

They read Small Steps by Peg Kehret and learned about her experience with polio and her recovery. They then made a real-world connection by learning that the creator of Candy Land also had polio. After seeing children with polio in the hospital, she created the game to give them something fun to enjoy during their recovery.

To wrap up the unit, students made the connection come to life by playing a game of Candy Land!

What an amazing first week at Burkhart Elementary! Our students enjoyed getting to know their teachers, classmates, and the school as they learned classroom routines, built new friendships, and had fun at recess and lunch. We are so proud of the excitement, teamwork, and kindness they have shown as we begin a new school year.
