Did you know that every year, approximately 6,000 babies are born with Down Syndrome?

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when abnormal cell division results in extra genetic material from chromosome 21 which causes a wide range of developmental and intellectual delays.

On March 21st every year, celebrates World Down Syndrome Day, an event designed to raise public awareness, promote inclusivity, encourage advocacy, and support the well-being of those living with Down Syndrome.

The third of March is National Caregiver Appreciation Day, an opportunity to recognize and thank the estimated 43 million caregivers who work to improve the lives of others. Approximately one in every four adults in the United States is a caregiver, with one in every six adults receiving assistance. More than half of caregivers for older adults are over the age of 50. Women of color, many of whom are immigrants, are more likely to be caregivers.
