As this pest reemerges as a significant threat to U.S. animal agriculture, understanding how to recognize potential cases and respond effectively is essential. This webinar will provide practical information to help participants identify potential New World screwworm cases, understand response strategies, and prepare for the environmental, regulatory, and animal health challenges associated with a detection.

Create a unique, lightweight planter while learning a fun and practical gardening technique at this hands-on workshop with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Cambria County. Participants will learn how to make a hypertufa container using Portland cement, Perlite, and peat moss; explore soil mixes that help succulents thrive; and receive step-by-step guidance from Master Gardeners throughout the process. Each participant will leave with a completed hypertufa container and a complimentary succulent to enjoy at home.

The Pennsylvania Poultry Sales and Service Conference and the Annual Northeastern Conference on Avian Diseases (NECAD) is a two-day event addressing crucial topics in the poultry industry. Targeted toward poultry producers, industry professionals, organizations, and avian health experts, the conference features the NECAD Poultry Health Symposium and scientific sessions. Participants will also benefit from a general poultry session with a motivational keynote speaker discussing current industry trends. The event includes breakout sessions focused on broilers, layers, and turkeys, as well as an evening social with the Poultry Science Club, providing valuable networking opportunities.

This two-day conference offers presentations, workshops, networking opportunities, and valuable connections. Attendees may register for the full conference or choose single-day admission.

Visit Extension at the Indiana County Fair!

We will have a table at the fair for our Indiana County Extension educators and resources. And our Master Gardeners and 4-H program will have their own usual areas.

Throughout the week, we will have staff from the Water and Energy areas and educational handouts in food preservation and agronomy. We will also have our "Preserving Food at Home Resource Guide" book and 2024 Plat Books available for purchase. All week long, there will be a space to leave questions!
