At least wait until the 00:25 mark. ๐Ÿค

Here, you'll observe Doug the Duck, Indiana County Conservation District's official unofficial mascot, as he makes his perilous journey along Two Lick and Blacklick creeks, all the way to the Conemaugh River.

Pollution that enters even our smallest streams can have a big impact on our larger waterways, as Doug's epic journey from tributary to tributary shows.

Stay tuned for more on the saga of Doug the Duck in Indiana County.

Did you miss our Tiny Terrariums workshop event? Here's a tutorial that will help you make a fun and easy activity for the kiddos while learning about concepts like the water cycle, energy flow, and how ecosystems can recycle resources within a closed system.

Or, you know, just having fun.

We are happy to announce the Indiana County team of the Homeschoolers for Christ Co-Op placed second at the Pennsylvania Envirothon!

62 teams from across the state competed at Camp Mount Luther, and the Homeschoolers walked away with a high score in the wildlife station. Each of the team members earned a $750 scholarship.

These students all worked extremely hard and it's fantastic to see their efforts paid off. Congratulations to the students and their coach on their amazing placing!

In Episode 7 of Conservation Conversations, we explore some of the biggest problems facing Indiana Countyโ€™s waterways โ€” and the volunteers fighting to protect them. From abandoned mine drainage and disappearing fish to community cleanups, water testing, and stream restoration projects, local watershed organizations are doing critical work, some with shrinking public support.

Featuring voices from Evergreen Conservancy, Conemaugh Valley Conservancy, AWARE, and POWR, this episode asks an important question: if no one is paying attention, who will protect our rivers and streams? Tune in to hear how Indiana County community members are working to preserve Pennsylvaniaโ€™s waterways โ€” and why they need your help now more than ever.
