On March 31st, IHS Key Club students John Cross and Justin John joined Sheriff Fyock in spreading Easter cheer by assisting the Easter Bunny in his annual visit to patients and staff at IRMC

In order to commemorate the occasion and thank these students for their efforts, Sheriff Fyock recently presented Key Club with a plaque celebrating the 19th anniversary of this effort to bring positivity and joy to our local community

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to protect them.

From all of us at the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. National Police Week is a week long recognition to pay respect to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. In 2025, 111 officers nationwide lost their lives in the line of duty. We remember those who never made it home.

Child Abuse is something no one ever wants to talk about, but the reality is, it happens. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and all over the nation Children Advocacy Centers do their best to spread awareness about how community members can help provide support to the children and their families who are impacted by abuse.

In Indiana County, The CARE Center spreads awareness by planting their “Garden of Hope” at the Indiana County Courthouse. This garden is home to many pinwheels planted by donors to symbolize the safe, happy, innocent childhood that every child deserves. These donors are big and small, but each one important to the work we do to prevent, identify, and intervene when a child and their family needs care, support, and hope after suffering child abuse. We would like to recognize one of our partners, Sheriff Robert Fyock, who has supported the CARE Center not just financially, but through his dedication to the families that we serve. Together, The CARE Center and Sheriff Fyock work to help as many children as possible who need care, support, and hope after suffering child abuse.

Sadly, this tragedy will occur and the “Garden of Hope” is planted every year to the illustrate the optimism the CARE Center, their partners, and community members have for the future of the children in Indiana County.
