The mission of Alice Paul House is to educate, advocate and empower all victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, other crimes and juvenile offenders.
24-HOUR SERVICES
A certified trauma-informed advocate is available to provide support and guidance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to include weekends and holidays. APH advocates utilize safety planning measures when
working with victims/survivors, their children, and significant others. This includes steps and options for increasing safety and preparing for future victimization. Advocates use a trauma-informed approach, with its foundation on the basis of the sanctuary model, "do no harm." This involves active listening, empathy, and acknowledgment of the victim/survivor's reality as they are experiencing it. Advocates are professionally trained and certified in trauma-informed techniques providing assistance to trauma survivors and their significant others. A person who has been victimized often struggles with relationship difficulties, feelings of guilt, grief and loss, and flashbacks. Our confidential services can assist you in processing these feelings. EDUCATION ADVOCACY
