⚠️ Severe Weather Potential Tonight ⚠️

The National Weather Service in State College is monitoring the potential for thunderstorms across central Pennsylvania tonight. While not all areas will see severe weather, some storms could produce strong winds, hail, and heavy rain as they move through the region.

Storms may develop later this evening and continue into the overnight hours, so be prepared for changing conditions after sunset.

Strong winds remain the primary concern and could lead to isolated power outages due to downed trees or limbs. REA Energy crews are on standby and ready to respond if needed.

If storms impact your area, please remember:
⚡ Stay away from downed power lines—always assume they are energized.
⚡ If a power line falls on your vehicle, stay inside and call for help.
⚡ Report outages or hazardous conditions to REA Energy as soon as it is safe to do so. Outages can be reported by calling 844-920-3395.

We encourage all members to keep an eye on local forecasts and have a plan in place for severe weather tonight.

Stay safe, and we’ll keep you updated as conditions develop.

11 AM EDT 3/26/2026: Timing of thunderstorms -- basically from late this afternoon through early tonight. The storms will be progressing from north to south. The most likely cause of damage today will be wind damage with lower chances of large hail and tornadoes.

⚠️ Stay Clear of Downed Power Lines ⚠️

Severe weather, falling trees, or vehicle accidents can bring power lines down unexpectedly. If you see a downed power line, stay far away. Even if the line appears inactive, it may still be energized and extremely dangerous.

Always assume every downed line is live and deadly. Keep yourself, your family, and your pets at least 30 feet away from the area.

If you encounter a downed power line:
• Do not approach or touch it
• Keep others away from the area
• Call 911 immediately to report the hazard

Your quick action could help prevent a serious injury or save a life. Electricity is powerful and unpredictable — when in doubt, stay clear and report it right away.
